University of Lagos’ Institute of African and Diaspora Studies Partners with University of Liverpool’s AHUWA Research Centre on Global Urbanism and Heritage Programme
The Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS) at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is pleased to announce a strategic collaboration with the Architecture Heritage and Urbanism of West Africa (AHUWA) Research Centre at the University of Liverpool. This partnership is part of the prestigious Leverhulme International Professorship grant awarded to Professor Taibat Lawanson. The collaboration will support the development of a Master’s programme in Global Urbanism and Heritage, fostering academic exchange and research between the two institutions. As part of the initiative, a state-of-the-art media centre will be established to facilitate online teaching activities, ensuring seamless access to course materials and interactive learning experiences for students. The IADS-UNILAG and AHUWA-Liverpool partnership underscores both institutions’ commitment to advancing knowledge, research, and capacity-building in urban studies and heritage conservation.
