2026 WORLD MALARIA DAY
The Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS) successfully commemorated World Malaria Day, on April 22, 2026 at the IADS Gallery, University of Lagos, under the theme “Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must,” with a focus on the place of traditional medicine in the fight against malaria.
The event featured a rich roundtable discussion on the current state of malaria responses in Nigeria.
Panelists include Prof. Wellington oyibo, Alhaji Egberongbe Taiwo Subair, Hakeem Bello, Registrar Lagos State Traditional medicine Board (LSTMB).
The Event also featured a tasting session of malaria decoction (agbo), highlighting indigenous knowledge systems. We extend our warm congratulations and sincere appreciation to all participants and attendees whose presence, insights, and engagement contributed to the success of the programme.
