class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>The <b>Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS), University of Lagos<\/b>, hosted the <b>Traditional Medicine Exhibition Day 2026<\/b>, an event dedicated to highlighting the relevance of traditional medicine to healthcare, research, and the pursuit of <b>Universal Health Coverage<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p><p>The programme, held under the theme <b>\u201cContribution of Traditional Medicine to Universal Health Coverage,\u201d<\/b> brought attention to the role of indigenous medical knowledge, medicinal plants, research, and community-based healthcare practices in addressing contemporary health challenges.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 Medicine in the Prevention &amp; Management of Diabetes,\u201d<\/b> delivered by <b>Dr. Akinmayowa Akin-Otiko<\/b>. It highlighted the widespread use of traditional medicine on the continent, noting a WHO-attributed figure that <b>80 per cent of Africans rely on traditional medicine for some part of their healthcare<\/b>. The exhibition created a space where participants could engage with the relationship between indigenous healthcare practices and contemporary health
