Principal Investigators (PIs) of the Lagos-African Cluster Centre (ACC) are delighted to welcome you to the first Graduate Conference at the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies, University of Lagos, Nigeria. Several abstracts were received, but only thirty-one were selected. This is indicative of the value of the opportunity being given to the participants. As announced in the call, this conference is designed for graduate students conducting research on themes relating to Africa. This conference aims to provide the following:<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>critical, peer-driven feedback on a substantial piece of work<\/li><li>opportunity to share ongoing research with peers<\/li><\/ol><ul><li>training on research design and grant writing<\/li><\/ul><ol><li>opportunities for networking and interaction with graduate students and faculty at the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies and the University of Lagos in general<\/li><li>mentorship for graduate researchers<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The programme has been designed to meet all the conference objectives. We, therefore, encourage all participants to take advantage of the opportunities that the conference will provide.
